Young grain industry participants have been urged to step away from the tractor, stop checking progress in the paddocks, tip out the rain gauge and start packing their bags to attend the annual GrainGrowers Innovation Generation conference scheduled for 23-25 July on the Gold Coast.

With the event just days away, GrainGrowers is urging grain industry entrepreneurs, farmers, agriculture professionals and students to go on-line, grab their tickets and prepare to enjoy a future-focused conference addressing industry opportunities and challenges.

GrainGrowers CEO Shona Gawel said the event was an exciting occasion for emerging industry professionals to hear from a range of great speakers and agricultural leaders with real-life experience and network with other industry participants.

"Over the past decade Innovation Generation has grown from strength to strength, and it is motivating to see and experience people getting directly involved in the challenges facing the industry.”

"It is shaping up as another great event, and I would encourage people to set aside the time, come along and listen, and get involved in the discussions," Ms Gawel said.

The event, now in its seventeenth year, features a variety of educational sessions plus entertainment and networking opportunities, held under the theme "sowing for tomorrow."

Speakers include Rugby League legend and farm safety advocate Shane Webcke, world record sailor and climate activist Lisa Blair, Loam Bio co-founder Guy Webb, GRDC Grower Relations Manager Rebekah Starick, John Deere Precision Ag Marketing Manager Max Cusack, and Nutrien Ag Solutions’ Head of Commercial Sustainability, Rebecca Underwood.

The event will host a great debate on the topic: Sustainable Development and ESG are the same thing and an engaging panel discussion considering whether regional Australia is a Hidden Gem or a Diamond in the Rough?

The sessions will include the following:

  • A keynote session, "Exploring the Future of Ag."
  • Crafting your career: Mastering communication, elevator pitches and personal branding
  • Exploring agriculture’s role in addressing global climate challenges
